Directions to DMV (beginning of parade)
Follow Interstate 64 to the Boulevard exit (Route 161). Take the Boulevard south, towards Broad Street (if coming from Interstate 64 East, this means turning left on Boulevard, if coming from Interstate 64 West, turn right on Boulevard). Follow the Boulevard south to Broad Street and turn left onto Broad Street. The Parade begins four blocks up, at the intersection of DMV and Broad Street.
The Parade route is approximately three miles long. Onlookers may follow Broad Street East until finding a location to observe the parade. Broad Street heading west will be closed for the Parade. To head west, drivers must move one block over to either Grace Street or Marshall Street for any reason.
There is no designated parking for the Parade route. Parking is available on any side street near the Parade or at the Virginia Alcohol and Beverage Control (ABC) lot next to the Science Museum. Please do not park in the Science Museum or Children’s Museum lot unless you plan on visiting them!
Best viewing spots are available in front of the DMV, at the Virginia Commonwealth University parking deck at the Siegel Center and near the former Sixth Street Marketplace.
Street Closings
Please Note: Broad Street eastbound will be closed from Strawberry St. to Davis from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. the day of the parade, and Broad Street westbound will be closed from 7th to Davis from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the day of the parade.
